Isabel Mendoza

Isabel Mendoza is a Latinx Bay Area-based illustrator and author. Growing up in a big family, she discovered peace and quiet in drawing and painting. Isabel studied at California College of the Arts, where she found a passion for storytelling. She likes to revisit her own childhood experiences in her stories, as she did with her first picture book, QUIET, and aims to create a safe space for kids to explore their own thoughts and emotions in her books.
