Valerie Niemeyer
Raised in southern Washington, Valerie spent most of her childhood getting lost in cozy worlds. She sipped tea with Lucy Pevensie and Mr. Tumnus, stole carrots from the garden with Peter Rabbit, and even tasted a snozzcumber with Sophie and a very large gentle giant. In an effort to create her own worlds, she eventually grew up and earned her BA in Oil Painting from the University of Washington in 2016 and has lived in Seattle ever since. While watercolor now serves as the foundation of most of her pieces, she often uses gouache, colored pencil or digital tools to add texture and life to her work. When not creating art she can be found imagining the lives of the mice who might live in her walls and trying to keep her cats from eating cheese off the counter. You can visit her at www.valerieniemeyer.com or on Instagram @valerie_niemeyer. She is represented by Eve Adler.
