Ellen Cochrane

Ellen Cochrane is a certified California naturalist who writes a syndicated column about urban nature. She taught English in public middle school for twenty years and was twice awarded her district’s Most Influential Teacher prize. She also lived and worked in Moscow, Russia for the State Department. Ellen speaks Spanish and Russian and blogs about the environment and her career in education. She’s a graduate of the University of California and has recently earned a Master’s Degree in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins.
