Kathryn Hagen

Kathryn Hagen has always loved language, learning, children, and writing. After receiving her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, she combined her first three passions into work as a speech/language pathologist specializing in early language and literacy development. She later earned her Educational Specialist degree at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and worked as a special education administrator. Kathryn now joyously combines all of her passions to create nonfiction books for children. She thrills at diving into the stories of fascinating people and the marvels of the natural world, and bringing this wonder and awe to young minds and hearts through her books. Her debut picture book is forthcoming from a major publisher. When not writing, Kathryn enjoys hiking and kayaking, travel, and teaching English to adult immigrants. Kathryn and her husband split their time between Minneapolis and the Philadelphia area. You can visit her at kathrynjeanhagen.com. She is represented by Eve Adler.
